Testing information This release has been tested with DAC960 Firmware ver 2.00 and above. The controllers have been tested under Netware 3.1x, SCO ODT 3.0, OS/2 2.11, Windows NT 3.5 and Windows 3.11 with various disk array configurations. All of the DAC960 family of controllers have been tested and verified to be compatible with motherboards from Compaq, Intel, Micronics, ALR, AST, HP and Mylex. Currently, the DAC960PL, DAC960P, DAC960PD, DAC960E and the DAC960S can support cache memory sizes of of 2MB, 4MB, 8MB, 16MB and 32MB using appropriate 72 pin (36 bit) SIMM modules. (Do not use Quad CAS SIMMs) DAC960 controllers that use the 30 pin (9 bit) SIMM modules can support memory sizes of 4MB, 16MB and 64MB. Systems having 2MB cache memory may have problems at higher stripe sizes under certain operating systems and need to have either smaller stripe sizes or more memory. *************************************************************************** III. Precautions, Known Limitations and Bugs: General: 1. When using system drives with Write Back cache, make it a point to wait for 15 seconds after the last operation, before rebooting or powering off the drives/system. This is to make sure data in the cache is written to the disk before the system is rebooted. 2. Two or more drives cannot be rebuilt at the same time.
