Before you begin the installation. o Be sure that your ServeRAID adapter or controller is physically installed, properly cabled, and configured. o Be sure that Windows NT is installed and functional. 2.10 Installing the Files from Diskette ---------------------------------------- To install the ServeRAID Failover Applet for Windows NT 4.0 from the IBM ServeRAID Failover Applet Diskette: 1. Turn on the server and allow Windows NT to boot. Insert the "IBM ServeRAID Failover Applet Diskette" into the diskette drive. 2. Click on START, click on RUN; then, type the following: A:\SETUP and press Enter. 3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. ___________________________________________________________________ 3.0 Starting the Failover Applet ___________________________________________________________________ 1. Click on START, then click on Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double click the "IBM ServeRAID Fault Tolerant" icon. Note that if your server doesn't support hotplug PCI adapters, or you don't have the Windows NT 4.0 hotplug software loaded, you will receive a message "WARNING: Could NOT open registry key "\Software\IBM\Slots\PCI.". Therefore, cannot enumerate Friendly Slot Numbers."
