               Updating BIOS and NVRAM for QLogic PCI Fibre Channel Adapter


Following are the steps required to update the BIOS and NVRAM settings for the QLogic PCI Fibre Channel Adapter.  It is assumed that the adapter is installed and working properly.  Also, ensure that the serial number for the adapter is known (it is required for updating the NVRAM).  For instructions on installation of the adapter, see the publications that came with the adapter.

1.  Boot the server to a DOS command prompt.
2.  Run the flasfc.exe file and follow the prompts accordingly.  When complete, you should be back at a DOS command prompt.
3.  Run the nvramfc.exe file.  Press 'L' for 'LOAD' new NVRAM settings.  You will be prompted for the serial number for the adapter.
4.  You must restart the server for the settings to take place.
