OS/2 INSTALLATION: Read this entire section before installing OS/2. This section is for the user who wants to install or start Extended Edition Version 1.2 on a system: 1) with an Enhanced 80386 Memory Expansion Option 2) with less than 3.5MB of total system memory, excluding Enhanced 80386 memory. In order to prevent failure during installation or start-up (from the installation diskette only): 1) First, insert the Enhanced 80386 Memory Expansion Option diskette into drive A and power up the system. This enables the system to access the additional, required memory. 2) Then, insert the OS/2 Installation Diskette and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. For additional information, refer to the chapter entitled, "Installing IBM Operation System/2" in your "Operating System/2 Getting Started" manual. NOTES: If, during OS/2 installation, you are instructed to: Leave the diskette in the drive, and restart the system by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del, or, Restart the system by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del (no instructions are given regarding the diskette), Then, 1) Remove the OS/2 Installation Diskette from the drive. 2) Insert the Enhanced 80386 Memory Expansion Option diskette. 3) Simultaneouly press Ctrl + Alt + Del. 4) Follow the instructions displayed on your screen. When, during OS/2 installation, you are instructed to remove the installation diskette and restart the system: 1) Remove the OS/2 Installation Diskette from the drive. DO NOT insert another diskette into the drive (the drive should remain empty). 2) Simultaneouly press Ctrl + Alt + Del. AIX INSTALLATION: Read this entire section before installing AIX. This section is for the user who wants to install or start AIX on a system: 1) with an Enhanced 80386 Memory Expansion Option 2) with less than 3MB of total system memory, excluding Enhanced 80386 memory.
