The following models are supported: - ThinkPad 390 - ThinkPad i series 1720/1721 To determine if you have to update the Supplement Files or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To update the Supplement Files, please refer to the "Installation Guide" section. Rename C:\windows\system\iosubsys\CDVSD.VXD to CDVSD.VXD.OLD 2. Copy A:\CDVSD.VXD into C:\windows\system\iosubsys 3. Restart the system. (For Windows 95) - How to install Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2) and OEM Service Release 2.1 (OSR2.1) 1. Copy all the cabinet files and installation programs to your hard disk. 1-1. Make a temporary directory (for instance, C:\WIN95) and make sure enough hard disk space is available to store the cabinet files and installation programs (the required free space vary depending on the language of Windows 95). 1-2. Copy all the cabinet (.CAB) files and installation programs from \WIN95 directory of Windows 95 retail CD. Type "COPY src_cd:\WIN95\*.* tgt_drv:\tgt_dir" and press Enter. src_cd: Drive letter of CD-ROM drive (e.g. C, D,..) tgt_drv:\tgt_dir: Drive letter and temporary directory made in 1-1 (e.g. C:\WIN95) 2. Copy updated files from Windows 95 supplement file diskette to the temporary directory. 2-1. Insert Windows 95 supplement file diskette into a floppy drive. 2-2. Type "COPY a:\SYSTEM\*.* tgt_drv:\tgt_dir" and press enter. 2-3. Type "COPY a:\PCMCIA\*.* tgt_drv:\tgt_dir" and press enter. 2-4. Type "COPY a:\USB\*.* tgt_drv:\tgt_dir" and press enter. tgt_drv:\tgt_dir: Drive letter and temporary directory made in 1-1 (e.g. C:\WIN95) 3. Start Installation from the temporary directory. 3-1. Run "SETUP.EXE" in the temporary directory. 3-2. Refer to the Windows 95 documentation and instructions on the screen to complete the installation. Next step is to install some fix modules on Windows 95 OSR2. 4. Install PC Card driver fix. 4-1. Click on "Start". 4-2. Select "Settings" and click on "Control Panel". 4-3. Double click on "System" and click on "Device Manager" tab. 4-4. Double click on "Other Devices". 4-5. Double click on one of the "PCI CardBus Bridge". 4-6. Click on "Driver" tab. 4-7. Click on "Update Driver..." button. 4-8. Select "Yes (Recommended)" and click on "Next" button. 4-9. Click on "Other Locations..." button. 4-10. Type "tgt_drv:\tgt_dir" in the Location and click on "OK" button. tgt_drv:\tgt_dir: Drive letter and temporary directory made in 1-1 (e.g. C:\WIN95) 4-11. Click on "Finish" button. 4-12. If 'carddrv.exe' is not found, type "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM" in the "Copy file from:" and click on "OK" button. 4-13. If 'cbss.vxd' is not found, type "tgt_drv:\tgt_dir" in the "Copy file from:" and click on "OK" button. 4-14. If 'csmapper.sys' is not found, type "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM" in the "Copy file from:" and click on "OK" button. 4-15. Click on "Close" button in the Texas Instruments PCI-1250 CardBus Controller Properties dialog box. 4-16. Double click on the other the "PCI CardBus Bridge". 4-17. Repeat 4-6 to 4-15. 5. Install system driver fix. 5-1. Click on "Start". 5-2. Select "Settings" and click on "Control Panel". 5-3. Double click on "System" and click on "Device Manager" tab. 5-4. Double click on "Other Devices". 5-5. Double click on one of the "PCI Bridge". 5-6. Click on "Driver" tab. 5-7. Click on "Update Driver..." button. 5-8. Insert Windows 95 CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive. 6-2. Refer to the Windows 95 instructions to complete USB supplement modules. 6-3. Shutdown and restart the computer. 6-4. Click on "Start". 6-5. Select "Settings" and click on "Control Panel". 6-6. Double click on "System" and click on "Device Manager" tab. 6-7. Double click on "Other Devices". 6-8. Double click on one of the "PCI Universal Serial Bus". 6-9. Click on "Driver" tab. 6-10. Click on "Update Driver..." button. 6-11. Select "Yes (Recommended)" and click on "Next" button. 6-12. Type "tgt_drv:\tgt_dir" in the Location and click on "OK" button. tgt_drv:\tgt_dir: Drive letter and temporary directory made in 1-1 (e.g. C:\WIN95) 6-13. Click on "Finish" button. 6-14. If 'uhcd.sys' is not found, type "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM" in the "Copy file from:" and click on "OK" button. 6-15. Click on "Close" button in the Properties dialog box. 6-16. Click on "OK" button. 5-12. Click on "OK" button in the Properties dialog box. 5-13. Double click on the other the "PCI Bridge". 5-14. Repeat 5-6 to 5-12. 6. If needed, remove all the files in the temporary directory and the directory itself after installation is completed to save the hard disk free space.
