Product Installation and Configuration Create Product Disk ------------------- Create the IBM ARTIC X.25 Coprocessor Support for NetWare WAN HSM Diskette by issuing the following command. Note that 'A:' is the location of the diskette drive. DNHM3101 A: Installation ------------ IBM ARTIC X.25 Coprocessor Support for NetWare WAN HSM uses PINSTALL for installation. From the System Console, use the LOAD command to run PINSTALL from the diskette. LOAD A:PINSTALL Configuration ------------- All the changes from Version 3.00 to 3.10 were made to simplify configuration. A new INETCFG snapin now automatically finds any installed/supported ARTIC adapters and determines the proper configuration parameters. Configuration is performed by selecting the proper ARTIC adapter from the Board option menu. The ARTIC X.25 PCI adapters are listed by PCI device number order. Below is an example of the load command, created by INETCFG, for two cards. load artic1x name=artic_1 channel=1 int=a port=2a0 mem=d0000 load artic1x name=artic_2 channel=1 int=b port=6a0 mem=d2000 The X.25 Interface Co-Processor Guide to Operations gives information on configuring the adapter. The chapter on 'Special Configuration Information' details how to build an ICAPARM.PRM file and modify the CONFIG.SYS file. These changes are not needed and should not be done. Notes ----- Always reconfigure the ARTIC X.25 PCI Adapter whenever any hardware configuration changes are made. Run INETCFG, select the ARTIC X.25 PCI Adapter, then re-select the proper adapter. This will update the Port, Interrupt, and Memory parameters that are used when the system is booted. Finally bring down and restart the server. As the driver loads, the message 'Unneeded channel number ignored' is displayed. This warning is normal and cannot be avoided. As the driver loads, the message 'Unneeded I/O Port number ignored' is displayed. This warning is normal and cannot be avoided. 5.
