The AGP 4X/133 SMBus controller is a two-wire interface to communicate with the devices which satisfy the "System Management Bus Specification revision1.0". This "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Driver" distribution floppy is used to install the drivers which are needed to use the AGP 4X/133 SMBus controller. Other South Bridge chips supported are not guaranteed. * The "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Driver" supports the following Operation System. It will copy the driver to the \\windows\system directory *************************** ** Driver Uninstallation ** *************************** You could remove the "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Device Driver" from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click Start button on desktop , move to Settings and click Control Panel then Control Panel window would be opened. Doulb click Add/Remove Programs, you can see the "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Device Driver" in the programs list. Select it and click Add/Remove button, it will completely remove the driver from the sytsem. 4) Windows NT Driver ************************* ** Driver Installation ** ************************* Click the SETUP.EXE program and select "Install" button then it will install the "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Driver" automatically on your Windows NT system. It will copy the i2cw.dll to \\winnt\system32 and i2cnt to \\winnt\system32\drivers directory respectively. *************************** ** Driver Uninstallation ** *************************** Same as Windows 9x driver uninstallation. 5) Windows 2000 Driver ************************* ** Driver Installation ** ************************* Click the SETUP.EXE program and select "Install" button then it will install the "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Driver" automatically on your Windows NT system. It will copy the i2cw.dll to \\winnt\system32 and i2cnt to \\winnt\system32\drivers directory respectively. *************************** ** Driver Uninstallation ** *************************** Same as Windows 9x driver uninstallation. 6) Package Version Identify You could check this distribuation version and release date by using the DATE\TIME displayed by using dir/p command, e.g : SETUP EXE 59,392 mm-dd-yy hh:mi a SETUP.EXE The version number reads as hh.mi, which was released on the date of mm/dd/yy. 7) Silent Install Driver (For Windows 9X/NT/2000) Available parameters: -s Parameter Description -s Silent install driver. Note: - A dash(-) must precede the command line parameters. Example: setup.exe -s Silent install driver but not reboot the computer. 8) Verifying Installation of the Driver For Windows 9x: 1. There are two files that named i2cw.dll and SMBus.vxd in \\windows\system directory. 2. Click Start button on desktop. Move to Settings and click Control Panel. In Control Panel window, double click Add/Remove Programs. If Find "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Device Driver" in the programs list, your installation is successful. For Windows NT: 1. There is a file that named i2cw.dll in \\winnt\system32 directory 2. There is a file that named i2cnt.sys in \\winnt\system32\drivers directory. 3. Click Start->Run. Write "regedit" then press Enter key. 4. find a registry key named "i2cnt" in \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \System\CurrentControlSet\Services\. 5. Click Start button on desktop. Move to Settings and click Control Panel. In Control Panel window, double click Add/Remove Programs. If Find "AGP 4X/133 SMBus Device Driver" in the programs list, your installation is successful.
