Flash Changes PC 300 PCI (65X7) LVJTxxA is the flash diskette level. LVKTxxA is the flash image level. (BIOS) NOTE: All changes carry forward. That is, if a change is added in 01, it is also in 02, 03 etc. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT18A 200MHz setup screen shows processor speed of 198MHz Some 32MB DIMM do not function properly. System hangs. DMA 1 not configured correctly.(DMA1 for PP port) Causes print failure under WIN95 Free interrupt 15 if not being used for IDE hardfile CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT19A Minor Bug in Setup Utility (txt not erase on cursor down) New Video Feature help has misspelling Memory detection algorithm changed per Intel Incorporate new translations for several languages. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT20A 1762 error after adding 6X or 8X CDROM Drives. The problem is an error in the chipset on the drive. However, we will change the detection code to get around the chip problem. This only fails on drives with one vendors chipset. Correct hardware error with Palm token ring adapter. Symptom was that the card would hang on a warm boot. PCI protocol violation with 32 clock retry and ECC (Intel errata) DRAM Cache Refresh During PCI Peer to Peer Traffic.(Intel errata) 12x10 Asymmetric DRAM Detection error. (Intel errata) Correct problem with ATI video card. Card would not work. Correct system hang problems with 2 2940 Adpatec cards in the system. Correct help messages in non-US languages CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT21A 1762 error after adding 6X or 8X CDROM Drives. This corrects a problem that caused the drives to hang when they were attached as a slave, or would also hang a hard disk if it was attached as a slave to one of these drives. This failure only occurred with certain combination of CDROM drives and certain hardfiles. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT22A Administrative Password not prompted for if flashing. PNP not disabling Infra Red port properly. Win95 Screen Saver standby hangs Screen Noise on Windows 3.11 by moving mouse if hardware power management disabled. Suspend fails in WINDOWS/95 with certain hardfiles installed. The system spins down the hardfile, appears to go to suspend for approximately 2 seconds and then spins back up. This only fails with 2 hardfiles on the same controller and then only with some IBM hardfiles. It has not been seen with other files. Also, automatic suspend works properly. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT23A Unexpected int 2 halts system. STB video adapters with PCI-PCI bridge don't work on PC 350 PC 350 fails when Installing NT via Remote Install Diskette errors with system logged on network. Disable Delayed transactions. There were no known failures. Setup always shows monitor change. Password prompts are all mixed up. Administrator password prompted for when booting from diskette with only administrator password set. Power on password is accepted for re-flashing the system. NOTE next change, the default setting has changed. Win95 bootup screen sometimes has colors corrupted. Changed palette snooping to disabled per Chip manufacturer. NOTE: Palette snooping is now disabled as the default. If using an option card for video you may need to go in SETUP and in the video setup, enable palette snooping.!!!! Some manufacturers' 8X CD ROMs cause 162, 1762 errors intermittantly. This change only affects a very small number of drives. AZTEC and Soundblaster are drives that may show this symptom. Cd rom drive tray must be opened before cd can be accessed after power up. This only failed on a few drives, notably the AZTEC. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT25A Turn off 2 bits per S3 Errata if palette snooping is enabled. No known failures or symptoms of this change. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT26A Fix missing characters in Japanese version. Palette snooping help text was incorrect. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT27A WinNT4.0 SVGA mode doesn't work with Triple LANStreamer. System stays in VGA mode. Cache line size is incorrect for adapters. This may have caused performance degredation. ARCNET card bypasses security. This allows booting without entering a password. System doesn't resume after Level 3 power management. This does not allow the system to wake up. RPL & CD in boot sequence hangs. Do not have CD in the boot sequence with RPL card installed in the system. Manufacturing fix for cache testing problems. Release IRQ 12 for adapter use if no mouse attached. CHANGES for LVKT/LVJT28A PNP devices are not reset during warm boot. This causes intermittant failures on re-boot under WIN/95 and possibly WIN/NT. Also can cause devices like CDROMs disappear on a warm boot. SYSTEM may hang if RPL is enabled and a CD-ROM is in the boot sequence Several applications fail because the top half of extended registers has residual data left after POST. The problems seen are hangs when booting UNIX operating systems and hangs with Lanworks Bootable RIPL chips installed. We will clear all registers before boot. Keyboard locks up with Visual Basic application that sends multiple keystrokes to the keyboard. Network cards may cause warm boot hangs. This change will disable bus-mastering from network cards to keep the code from getting overlayed by network packets.
