Dowloading RESTDVD.EXE and using it to reinstall the preloaded DVD software on 2139, 2158, 2163, and 2164 model Aptivas. **************Description******************* This update package is a self-extracting bootable diskette that is used to reinstall the original MediaMatics DVD Express software on select Aptivas. Due to copyright, this program will only function on Aptivas that were preinstalled with MediaMatics DVD Express. You should print this file before continuing. ************How to use this software.********* A: Download RESTDVD.EXE to your harddrive. (You will need approximately 1mb of free space on your hard drive to download the file.) B: Place a blank, 3.5" Floppy disk in the floppy drive. Label the Disk "DVD Restore". C: In Windows 98, Click , , then type C:\path\RESTDVD.EXE (Where C:\path is the location you saved RESTDVD.EXE). This will build a bootable diskette . D: Using the Disk to restore the MediaMatics DVD Express software. (Make sure there is at least 9.4MB of free space on the C: drive to install the TEMP files from your recovery CD.) 1. Place the disk labled "DVD Restore" in the floppy drive. 2. Click on Start -> Shutdown -> Restart the computer, then . 3. The computer will boot to the disk. 4. When prompted, put the Aptiva Product Recovery CD in the DVD-ROM drive. 5. When the "busy" light goes off on the DVD drive, press any key to continue the process. 6. The system will extract the Software from the CD and place it onto your hard drive. 7. Remove the CD and Floppy disks from the machine and restart the computer. This license is governed by the laws of the country in which you acquired the Programs except that: 1) if you acquired the Programs in the United States, this license is governed by the laws of the State of New York; and 2) if you acquired the Programs in Canada, this license is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
