The Install program does the following: Displays the default drives, directory and setup. If these are satisfactory press OK and the installation will begin. If changes are necessary press CHANGE and select the parameter(s) to be changed. For most users the default selection should be used. If you have a CYRIX math co-processor installed on the upgrade card some additional co-processor performance may be gained by selecting the Co-Processor Cache Read (NPX) Enable option. Note: do not enable this option if the co-processor is not CYRIX. The appropriate files will be copied from the installation drive to the system drive. The present system CONFIG.SYS file will be backed-up to a file named CONFIG.nnn where nnn is a number which starts at 001 to a max of 999. Each time INSTALL is run or the BACK-UP CONFIG.SYS option is used the file extension number will increment. The CONFIG.SYS will be modified for proper setup of the accelerator card. Optionally you may select to make an example file (CONFIG.UPG) which will contain the proper modification for the upgrade card DEVICE= line. If this option is selected CONFIG.SYS will have to be modified to contain this line in order for the upgrade card to function correctly. The AUTOEXEC.BAT will be modified for proper path to SLCCARD.EXE. Optionally you may select to make an example file (AUTOEXEC.UPG) which will contain the correct path line. If this option is selected AUTOEXEC.BAT will have to be modified to contain this line in order for the executable program SLCCARD.EXE to function correctly. See the README.TXT file and product manual for more detail on the options available. Also see the UTILITY.TXT file for details of the UTILITIES feature of INSTALL. These utilities may be used to change the setup of the upgrade card options and modify the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files accordingly. End of File:
